The Republic of Korea and other recently industrialized nations have accumulated chemicals and other toxicants quickly, endangering well-being, especially their reproductive systems. The majority of chemicals and work environments have not been investigated for their potential to harm reproductive systems up to this point. One of the most toxic substances known to humans, 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD or dioxin), is also highly pervasive in the environment.
